Joint Working Group
JWG 2
Electronic Layout Key (historical)
Development of an electronic version of the UN Layout Key (equivalent to ISO 6422:1985) as a joint deliverable between ISO/TC 154 and UN/CEFACT.
Overview
JWG 2 was a joint ISO/TC 154 – UN/CEFACT working group on the electronic Layout Key (eLK), established at the UN/CEFACT Forum in Vancouver (March 2006). It was renumbered as JWG 4 by resolution 305 at the 28th plenary (P28, effective 2009-09-25) and is the predecessor entity of today’s WG 4.
Established at the UN/CEFACT Forum in Vancouver (March 2006) as a joint working group between ISO/TC 154 and UNECE/UN/CEFACT to develop an electronic Layout Key.
A first New Work Item Proposal (ISO/NP 25557 "electronic Layout Key") was balloted within ISO/TC 154 in spring 2006 but failed (only 3 members agreed to participate). A second ballot in September 2006 was also negative. The work was then reframed under a multi-part suite around ISO 6422 — the original ISO 6422 unchanged as Part 1, the electronic Layout Key as Part 2.
At P28 (2009-09-25) the joint working group was renumbered from JWG 2 to JWG 4 by resolution 305.
